The lake has coast guard boats during the summer that are willing to bring you back should the wind die or you get into trouble. There is close parking, a really huge grassy area to set up, it's fairly close to launch area, its close for people in east Cincinnati. Week nights are perfect -- you can basically have the lake to yourself!
The wind is pretty shifty and there are some trees that block it in some areas. For the most part it blows away from the beach area which makes getting back a bit tough because of the swimming area that we can't go into.
The best launch area is off the 125 ( south side) of the lake. Follow the signs to the beach area. You can launch to the right or left of the swimming beach area. The left side facing the water is best but muddy.
Restrooms and snack machines. ( seasonal)
Power boats & lots of jet skis (but they are helpful and not out to get you!) On weekends or really busy days the boats and sea doo folks pull on the beach area which makes launching and coming in hard.
