Highlights

15-hp limit (no jet skis). Grassy rigging area.
Hoover Reservoir: Hoover sits in a valley and is only good when the wind is directly north or south, but winds with any South or North component will also work. The resevoir is very narrow and deep all the way across which makes it good for getting in lots of turns. Not many people sail here anymore as the area has grown up it takes more time to get there and the wind is rarely anything but southwest.

Conditions

Best when the wind is straight out of the South or North, but winds with any South or North component will work.
West is definitely not a good direction at Hoover because it's an offshore breeze across the short width of the lake. The launch is somewhat sheltered, but the wind is very gusty near the launch.

Launch

The only decent place to launch is on the west side about 3/4 miles north of the dam where Walnut Street dead ends. The rigging area is good and it is only 20-40 feet from water.
