Conditions
Good bump & jump conditions when the wind is out of the South & Southwest. The water is a bit murky, but you won't have to worry about getting blown out to sea. It is relatively shallow, but the chop can get fairly respectable in winds 20+ knots.
Dempsey Public Access. From Cleveland, take route 90 West to route 2 West. Take the first available Right after you pass over the Thomas Edison Bridge (Bay View area). Veer right at the split and you'll come to a stopsign. There will be a Drive-thru/ Gas station on your left. Turn left, this is (163). Follow 163 approximately 3 miles. Dempsey Public Access is on the right.
What to do afterwards...
Summer Months: The Marina Restaurant. Location: just a few more miles down 163 past Dempsey Access. Pass by Bay Point Yacht Club, and the Marina Restaurant is on the right about 1/2 mile. "Great Perch Sandwiches". Spring/Fall: Go to Sandusky or Port Clinton. Marblehead closes up after Labor Day.
