Springfield Lake is good when the wind is out of the South, SouthWest or SouthEast. North wind isn't too popular.
Hazards
Lots of boats in summer months.
To the left of the main setup area is a BUOY that marks the
end of an old "earth and rock peninsula" that used to be there...they
removed in 1998 or so and there are many rocks just below the surface between
the shore and the buoy.
From the North (Cleve) or South (Canton) - Take 77 to rt. 224 East...pass the Blimp Hangar and cross rt. 241 and Springfield Lake will be just another mile on the right. It sits right behind the fire station and there is a stop light on 224 that marks the side street you should make a right onto....parking and grass set up area are both right there.
Other Info
WAY down to the left of the main setup area is a shallow bay that is
good for beginners when the wind is from the S-SW
